Germany to the final - against?

The turkish adventure is over. The german mannschaft won the semi final after a late winning goal from Phillip Lahm. Turkey played, despite missing half of the squad, maybe their best game in the tournament. They started out really good and should have been in a bigger lead when Germany scored their first for the night. The equalizer from Shcweinstiger came just minuets after Turkey had taken the lead.

Germany turned the game over into their favour but I guess no one was surprised when Turkey equalized, minutes from elimination. But this night was not turkish. Phillip Lahm made the final goal in the last minute and Germany was through to their first final since Euro 96 in England.

Tonight it is time for semi final number two. Spain or Russia will face Germany in the final and it will be a small sensation if Spain makes it – an even bigger one if it will be Russia.

Both teams played a Euro final in the 80s but Russia did it under name and flag of Soviet 1988. Spain’s last time was 1984 and both teams lost their finals. Soviet to Holland, and Spain to France. Maybe that speaks for Russia, after the quarter final where they beaten Holland.

Russia will miss two players tonight. Central defender Kolidin and goal scorer from the match against Holland, Torbinski. Spain will face their strongest team and we are up for a great match. The teams played each other in their opening match about two and a half weeks ago and Spain won by 4-1. I don’t believe that will be the final score to today. But lets hope for a lot of goals and a exciting game.
